How PLA+ differs from PLA
The base is the same polylactic acid. The difference is additives that raise impact toughness and slightly improve layer bonding. In practice: a part that would snap when knocked off a desk in ordinary PLA usually survives in PLA+.
Everything else - the easy printing, the absence of smell, no need for an enclosure - stays.
How to print it
- Nozzle: 200-230 °C, typically 5-10 °C above the same colour in ordinary PLA
- Bed: 40-60 °C
- Cooling: full, though 70-80 % bonds layers better on detailed parts
- Enclosure: not needed
What to print
Anything PLA would do, but that will lead an active life: instrument cases, children's toys, holders, lightly loaded mounts, functional prototypes meant to be handled.
What not to expect
Heat resistance is unchanged: 50-60 °C and the part deforms. PLA+ answers brittleness, not heat. For anything that gets warm, it is still PETG, ABS or ASA.
Storage
As for PLA: a bag with silica gel, and 4-6 hours at 45-50 °C if the filament has taken on moisture.
