Description
PLA (polylactic acid) is where 3D printing starts, and what you come back to when a print has to be clean and dimensionally right.
Why PLA:
- prints at a low temperature and barely shrinks;
- no enclosure, no extraction required;
- holds its dimensions and renders fine detail well;
- made from renewable feedstock.
Recommended use
Models, prototypes, souvenirs, toys, miniatures, decor and household parts that never get warm.
Limitations
It does not take heat: a part left in a car in the sun, or above 50-60 °C, will deform. Brittle under impact - for loaded parts choose PETG or ABS.
